Donald Schmidt

UPP’s Acting Director and Assistant Director for Academic Affairs, Mr. Don Schmidt, received his bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Indiana University. He received his master’s degree in education from Boston University. He later completed a certificate in Rasch measurement and classical test theory from Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. He is currently working on a second postgraduate degree in educational psychology at the University of Illinois.

Over the past 15 years, Mr. Schmidt has worked both as a teacher and an educational administrator. He began in education as a junior lecturer at Boston University’s Center for English Language and Orientation Programs (CELOP). He later worked in Tokyo, Japan as both a teacher and the coordinator at Lakeland College Japan’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program. More recently he worked as a curriculum developer for the United Arab Emirates Military and as a curriculum developer and as the head of testing for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s Technical Institute located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
