King Faisal Foundation
The King Faisal Foundation (KFF) was established in 1976 by the heirs of the late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz as a continuation of his philanthropic and educational objectives. The Foundation’s projects are far-reaching and often large in scale, with the goal of improving life for the less fortunate. Central to the Foundation’s educational activities is the promotion of training, research, and applied technology in a manner that will help achieve the Kingdom's employment and industrial goals. The Foundation has always promoted a pragmatic approach to furthering opportunities for Saudi youth and enabling them to compete on a global level.
Alfaisal University
Reflecting the King Faisal Foundation’s strong commitment to learning, KFF established Alfaisal University in 2001. The university will admit its first students in September 2008.
Alfaisal University is expected to earn a reputation as one of the leading universities in the world. Graduate and undergraduate programs in science, business, and engineering will enable students to earn internationally recognized qualifications from within the Kingdom itself.
The University's Founding Board consists of 11 members from the following institutions: King Faisal Foundation, Dallah Al-Barakah Holding, Al-Jumaih Company Holding, Saudi Oger, Bin Laden Saudi Group, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, British Aerospace Electronics Company The Boeing Company, United Technologies Corporation, and THALES.
