About UPP

Facilities

The UPP is located on the Alfaisal University campus in Riyadh, on the grounds of the King Faisal Palace close to the King Faisal Hospital. The state-of-the art facilities include the following:

  • Classrooms equipped with the latest in educational technology, including computers, ePodiums, data projectors, SMARTBoards, projection screens, video and DVD access, and access to the Internet.
  • Science laboratories fully equipped to carry out experiments in physics, chemistry, and biology. Labs include cutting edge electronic-sensing and data-logging hardware and software.
  • Computer labs that accommodate whole classes in computer-assisted learning activities as well as individual students working on homework or language-lab assignments. Computers contain language learning software and other software to assist students with their English, math, and science work.
  • The Academic Resource Center (ARC) which accommodates at least 50 students at a time, with tables and chairs, computers with Internet access, and reading materials (books, magazines, and newspapers) and TOEFL and SAT practice materials. It is a place for individual students to study and work in groups. Teachers often take classes into the ARC to integrate the extra resources and technology into their classroom teaching.
  • Informational technology (IT) that supports all UPP courses. All school computers are networked and linked to the Internet. Each staff member and each student has an email account through which announcements are shared and feedback solicited. Additional learning materials for courses can be accessed via Moodle. In addition, access to grades if provided to all students through the use of NetClassroom, a component of the UPP SIS.
  • A coffee shop, a snack shop, and a lunch counter that provide students with food items and drinks that can be purchased.
  • A mosque with ablution areas nearby.
  • Lockers assigned to each student provide a safe place to store books, school supplies, and personal belongings during the school day.
