What is Student Association?

Student Association is the name of the student government body at the UPP.  Basically, Student Association represents the needs of the students to the administration.

What does Student Association do?

Student Association members meet regularly to discuss student issues.  Proposals are written to address the issues, and the proposals are voted on by the Association.  The proposals that are passed by the Association will be given to the UPP administration for their consideration and action.

Who is in Student Association?

The members of Student Association will be elected by the students of UPP – the student body.  So, the members are to be called Student Association representatives.

What are the positions within Student Association?

There is a President and Vice President.  The President is responsible for implementing the decisions of the Association.  The Vice President chairs the meetings.

How are students chosen to be in Student Association?

Students who are interested in serving on Student Association just need to apply to be a candidate in the Student Association election.  Applications are made with the Student Services Office.  The deadline for application is one week before the elections, which are held in week four.  All candidates will be introduced to students, share their ideas with the students, and answer questions from students.

What is the role of the Student Services Head?

The Student Services will advise the Student Association and work closely with the President and Vice President.
