Photos of Jazan

Saudi Arabia is one of the very few economies that have been largely unaffected by the global financial crisis.  It is also largely dependent on an expatriate labor force.  In order to further develop its own human resources (Saudization) the government has established five Economic Cities in underdeveloped regions of the Kingdom.   One such Economic City is proposed for the Jazan region. An integral component of the Economic City plan is to further develop education capacity for residents of the area.

About The Jazan Economic City

Currently the Jazan area is underdeveloped.  An adequate transportation, local government, and healthcare infrastructure are in place however, the infrastructure will significantly expand as the JEC project is developed.  It is for this reason that the Kingdom has selected this region for the establishment of one of its Economic City projects.  These Economic Cities are not just industrial parks; they are full‐fledged gated cities that will offer their citizens the possibility to live, work, play and learn without having to leave the city.

JEC will become one of the most strategic ports in the Kingdom.  Its primary purpose will be to develop an advanced industrial zone that promotes better trade relations with Asia and Africa.  It is anticipated that JEC will create 500,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. Talent from the West (Europe, U.S.) is expected to flock into those cities in the coming years.
