Acting Club Presents its Original Movie
The UPP Acting Club presented its original comedy movie on May 25 in the UPP auditorium. The students in the club wrote the script, served as the actors, edited the scenes digitally, and added a music soundtrack. Present at the movie showing were UPP students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
Entitled “A Horrible Day at the UPP”, the movie depicted a bad day in the life of a UPP student. The movie depicted the student waking up late, showing up late to classes, and finally going home to reflect on his day. The theme of the movie was that regardless of any troubles, a student in the UPP can be successful and should maintain a positive attitude, always doing his best regardless of having one bad day.
Scenes depicting UPP teachers received the most laughs at the movie showing. Student actors were dressed as teachers and imitated their voices and body language. George Botelho, faculty sponsor of Acting Club, said, “I am completely amazed at what an excellent job all the students in the Acting Club did in producing and acting in this film. This is the first effort they have made doing such a project at UPP. I think many people would agree with me that they all learned a lot from the experience, also that they made both their fellow students and teachers laugh their heads off!”
Abdullah Shammari, a student in the Medicine pathway, was the creative force in producing and editing the movie.
