UPP Celebrates Success Through the End-of-Year Ceremony

The End-of-Year Ceremony took place on June 22 at the King Faisal Auditorium in Riyadh. The ceremony concluded the year for the first class of UPP. A list of the students who completed the program follows this article.
Attending the ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al Faisal, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Khaled bin Abdullah Al Faisal, and His Highness Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Khaled Al Saud.
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Khaled bin Abdullah Al Faisal, himself a graduate of Harvard University, delivered the inspirational address. Prince Muhammad is the President and CEO of Al Faisaliah Group Holding, a leading Saudi Investment Company. He is also the President of the Harvard Alumni Association in Saudi Alrabia, a member of the General Assembly of the King Faisal Foundation, and he is active in both the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders and Young Arab Leaders.
The ceremony was opened with a Quranic recital by UPP student, Abdullah Al-Shammari and during the program, Student Association President, Faisal Al-Rasheed, spoke about the importance of education and expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UPP, KFF, and Alfaisal for the opportunities they have made possible for good students in the region.
Alfaisal University Acting President and Provost, Dr. Alan Goodridge, provided the congratulations address. He said in his address that he looked forward to receiving the students who will be attending Alfaisal University as part of its charter class.

In his address, Dr. John Aydelott, Director of the UPP, thanked KFF, particularly His Highness Prince Bandar for his leadership and guidance, Alfaisal University, and AMIDEAST. He also thanked the UPP faculty and administrative staff for their dedication, commitment, and hard work through the year. About the ceremony, Dr. Aydelott said, “All of us in the UPP are very proud of our program and the achievements of our students this year. The End-of-Year Ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the success of our students and faculty and to let everyone know that we consider this year a remarkable success.”
The ceremony included announcements of student awards for attendance and academic achievement. The highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of attendance certificates by Dr. Aydelott and Mr. Patrick Bauer, UPP Administrative Dean.
Alfaisal University Spokesperson, Saphia Akram, said, “This is a time for us to feel proud of what these young men have achieved, and we look forward to furthering their achievements as they join us this fall. We at Alfaisal University are all dedicated to inspiring a new age of educational achievement in the Kingdom.”
