The University Preparatory Program held its first student government elections on Wednesday, March 5. At the University Preparatory Program, the formal name of the student government is the Student Association. The responsibilities of the Student Association are to make recommendations to the UPP administration for ways to improve the program, help plan special activities, and recommend funds for student clubs that apply for it.
The Student Association meets weekly to discuss student concerns and vote on formal resolutions. Resolutions that receive majority vote are given to the administration for consideration. The first significant task of the student government is to create a Student Association Constitution, which will detail how elections are held in the future, the responsibilities of student government, how officers are selected, and other matters typical to any student government constitution.
Elected into the Student Association were the following students:
A-man Inayah
Abdullah Al-Shammari
Abdulrahman Al-Humoudi
Ahmad Adi
Ammar Awaad
Ayman Mohamed
Faisal Al-Rasheed
Hammam Adam
Hani Al-Turkmani
Yousef Mahmoud
Ziad El-Sawah
