The UPP class of 2010 marked the end of the year with a ceremony on Tuesday, June 2, 2009.  All students in the Business, Engineering, and Medicine pathways were encouraged to attend.   The venue was the main campus of Alfaisal University.

The hour-long ceremony was attended by UPP faculty, administrators, and students; Alfaisal University academic representatives; parents of UPP students; and a special representative of the King Faisal Foundation.  The program began with a recitation from the Quran by Osama Mustafa, UPP student in the Medicine pathway.  The program also included a student address by Muaz Mallick, UPP Student Association President. 

This year marked the beginning of an annual address by a faculty member.  The faculty member this year – Mr. Mahmoud Harding, Math Instructor – was chosen by student vote to be the faculty speaker.

Completion certificates were handed out by the Director, Mr. Patrick Bauer, with the assistance of the Assistant Director for Academic Affairs, Mr. Donald Schmidt.  Mr. Bauer also gave a closing address, emphasizing the importance of character over reputation.

After the ceremony, students and guests enjoyed a party with snacks, fruit drinks, dates, and traditional Arabic coffee.  A cake with the UPP logo was the centerpiece.  All students received a yearbook, UPP t-shirt, and Memory CD of photos taken throughout the year.

The ceremony and party provided an atmosphere of celebration to finalize a year of hard work and success for UPP students.
