External Evaluation of the UPP: The UPP Is Visited by Educational Policy Institute President and CEO

As part of a process to evaluate the effectiveness of achieving its goals, the UPP is undergoing an evaluation by the Educational Policy Institute (EPI).   EPI, a non-profit, non-governmental organization with offices in the US, Canada, and Australia, is dedicated to policy-based research on education.

EPI was contracted by AMIDEAST and KFF to conduct a goal-referenced evaluation in order to help the UPP provide optimal educational opportunities for its students.  UPP is committed to helping students achieve success.

The President and CEO, Dr. Watson Scott Swail, and Vice President, Mr. Alexander Usher, came to Riyadh in early April to conduct the five-day site visit at the UPP.  While here, they conducted numerous interviews with faculty, students and administrators; conducted focus group sessions; visited the new Alfaisal University campus and met with the Alfaisal leadership; and reviewed and analyzed reports and statistical data.

Dr. Swail’s blog on his website details some of his experiences and impressions of Saudi Arabia.  The blog entry can be found at:  http://www.educationalpolicy.org/pub/commentary/NineDaysinRiyadh.htm
