UPP
Faculty Planning for Arrival in Mid-August
UPP is preparing for the arrival of
close to 30 teachers in mid-August. They represent
the culmination of an extensive, worldwide recruitment
effort spearheaded by AMIDEAST to identify and retain
a diverse complement of qualified, committed educators
to deliver the UPP curriculum.
Selected from among a pool of hundreds
of applicants, all UPP teachers are native speakers
of English, hold master’s degrees in their teaching
areas, and have extensive classroom experience. Their
areas of expertise include English as a foreign language,
math, biology, chemistry, physics, computer skills,
and academic study skills.
An upcoming two-week orientation will
provide the opportunity for the faculty to become
familiar with the UPP curriculum—recently developed
by curriculum consultants expert in their respective
fields—and to work together for its smooth implementation.
UPP faculty and administration alike are eager to
launch this innovative program that seeks to instill
in students the knowledge and skills needed to succeed
in competitive university environments.
