Medicine pathway students meet with Dr. Kattan, Dean of the Medicine College

Alfaisal University held an Open House for UPP students, faculty, and staff on April 20.  The Open House was held at the site of Alfaisal University, which is currently under construction.  A tour was given of the Science Building, which is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer.  After the tour, a presentation and reception were held in the soon to be renovated palace of King Faisal, which was donated to the University by King Faisal’s heirs. 

Dr. Alan Goodrich, Acting President of the University, welcomed the students and explained the vision of Alfaisal University as a student-centered university with emphasis on problem-solving skills.  A lengthy question-and-answer session followed the premier showing of a new University marketing video.  After the session, students met in groups with the Deans according to their intended fields of study:  Medicine, Engineering, Business.

Construction on the Science Building will be completed this summer, and the UPP will move into the building.  The palace, which stands in the center of the University, was donated to the University and will in the future house a museum and various offices of the university.
