Student Association

Student Association is the name of the student government body at the UPP. It is composed of student representatives from the three Pathways (Medicine, Engineering, Business). Approximately 7% of UPP students can serve in the Student Association – one student representative for every 15 students.

Student Association is governed by a constitution created by the students themselves. Officers of the association consist of a President and Vice President.

The President’s primary responsibility is to communicate with the administration and enact the decisions of the Association. The primary responsibility of the Vice President is to preside over Association meetings. The other members of the Association serve as representatives and bring their concerns before the whole Association at regular meetings. These concerns are discussed, and proposed actions are voted on.

Regular meetings of the Association include an open forum where students can come express their opinions about matters being discussed. The Student Services Head serves as an Ex-Officio advisor to the Association, providing guidance in areas such as amending the constitution, bringing proposals to the administration, and exercising leadership in the student body.
